665 · BORKOVICH, Meleva After a short stay at St. Peter's Hospital, Meleva passed away quietly after a brave fight with cancer, on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the age of 86. She is survived and dearly loved by her husband of 37 years, Sam Borkovich. Dear mother of Tina Cornelius, Judge Dresch (JoAn), Michael (Pam) Rubin. Predeceased by her daughter Kathy Long. Dear stepmother of Peter (Melanie) Borkovich, and Daniel Borkovich. Loving grandmother to a dozen plus one grandchild and four great- grandchildren. Survived by her brother-in-law Nick (Marie) Borkovich. Predeceased by in-laws Dorothy Markis, Nick (Violet) Peskir, Stan (Verla) Borkovich. Meleva's absence will also be felt by her many nieces and nephews. Meleva M Mary Sukanda was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 30, 1927. She lived in New Jersey and then Florida while having a nursing career of 40 years which she continued after her move to Canada (including St. Peter's Hospital) and marriage to her beloved husband Sam in 1977. Visitation will be held at the L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 151 Ottawa St. N., (905-544-114) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Pomen 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral (Nash Road South), at 11 a.m. with the Very Reverend Father Milojko Dimitric officiating. 666 “As I write this, I am not sure what to say....she was my childhood...my buddy, my flea market shopping cohort, my kolo teacher, my drink sneaker, my friend, my Great Aunt. As I am devastated by her passing, I am relieved for her as she was so sick. I know she is in heaven with family, friends, Makica the cat (Baba named them all the same) and my cousin Dusan.
