Notes - Services for Daniel E. DeCap, 56, of Rock Island will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. A committal service, with military rites accorded by the Moline American Legion, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.
Following cremation, Daniel's ashes will be interred in Kabankalan, Republic of the Philippines.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at his residence in Rock Island.
Daniel was born Feb. 26, 1947, in Moline, the son of Michael and Adeline DeCap. He attended Black Hawk College and served in the Navy for 27 years.
He married Mariza Vergara March 8, 1980, in San Antonio, Zambales, the Philippines. She died Sept. 30, 2002.
Following his service in the Navy, he was a mail clerk DFAS at the Rock Island Arsenal. He retired in 2001. He enjoyed bowling and playing the slot machines.
Daniel is survived by a son, Mardan DeCap, Rock Island; brothers, William DeCap, Princeton, Iowa, and Larry DeCap, Colona; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend and care-giver Ruby Watkins, Rock Island.
In addition to his wife, Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Adeline DeCap; and an infant brother, Michael.
